  • Opening this week:
    • Walterdale’s annual showcase of new plays, From Cradle to Stage, runs May 16 – 21 and features Bottled Up by Sherilyn Brady Cook and The Sunset Syndrom by Alison Neuman.
    • Kill Your Television is presenting The Conversion by Nathan Cuckow and Kevin Sutley May 19 – 28.
    • Want to exorcise your adolescent demons? Check out the fundraiser I’m the Greatest/I’m a Piece of Shit/Nobody Understands Me at The Almanac in support of an upcoming workshop production of Everyone We Know Will Be There (A House-Party In One Act) in June.
    • To help you kick off your long weekend with a laugh, Hey Ladies! returns to The Roxy on Gateway for their final show of the season on May 20. This show is all about the great outdoors. Think axe throwing from Axe Hole, guests speaking about beer, music from Lindsey Walker and DYI glamping!
  • Closing this week:
    • Two One-Way Tickets to Broadway’s Pirates of Penzance closes at Holy Trinity Anglican Church tonight, May 16.
    • Or the Whale, an adaptation of Moby Dick, runs at the Timms Centre for the Arts until May 21.
  • The What It Is Podcast has released episode 102: Operatic Conversion Conversation, which includes an interview with opera singer Jacques Arsenault and the people behind Kill Your Television’s The Conversion. 
  • Not exactly theatre-specific, but check out all the great events happening at Churchill Square this summer!
  • Shadow Theatre has announced their 25th season, which will take place in the new Varscona!
