- Public performances of Concrete Theatre’s Under Cover run April 29 and 30 at La Cité Francophone.
- Edmonton’s newest theatre company, Pretentious Productions (sound familiar? Yes, The Pretentious English Major is involved), is running @Tension April 27 – 29. Admission is by donation, but a $15 Kickstarter donation will guarantee you a seat and help them reach their $500 funding goal.
- From Facebook: “@Tension is a physical, intermedial/technological, ensemble creation with a small group of performers and technicians. The purpose of this project is to investigate society’s use and dependence on various social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) and how social media constructs, disrupts, and remoulds identity. It is a blend of live physical performance in real life intersecting with live digital performance on screen.”

- You’ve got 10 days or so to clean out your closets this spring and donate items you no longer need to The Carrot Community Arts House’s Ultimate Garage Sale, which will happen on May 7. Donations can be dropped off at The Carrot May 4 – 6. All proceeds will benefit community events produced by Arts on the Ave (like Kaleido and Byzantine Winter Festival).
- Did you catch Catalyst Theatre’s 2016/2017 season announcement? The season will include the première of Catalyst’s newest work Fortune Falls, a three-city tour of 2015’s Vigilante and Over the Edge with 4 Play 2017.
- Check out the next Script Salon, which will present Oral Fixations by Blaine Newton and Leslie Greentree. Script Salon is held the first Sunday of every month (that means May 1!) at Holy Trinity Anglican Church (10037 84 avenue).
