Wow, Edmonton theatre is looking good! We’re halfway through the runs of all of the indie theatre shows that kicked off last week – I hope you’ve been able to get out and see some of the many shows on Edmonton’s stages this week.

  • Opening this week:
    • SkirtsAfire herArts Festival takes over Alberta Avenue, March 10 – 13.
      • Check out my festival preview with Festival Director Annette Loiselle.
      • Don’t forget, you can check out the remount of the sold out Fringe hit Gidion’s Knot before the festival as well!
  • Closing this week:
    •  Ella Hicksons’ Hot Mess runs at El Cortez until March 12.
    • Gidion’s Knot closes with SkirtsAfire herArts Festival, March 13.
    • Pyretic Productions’ The Other by Matthew Mackenzie runs until March 13.

    • This is War by Hannah Moscovitch runs at the PCL Studio until March 13.
    • The Plain Janes’ Wish You Were Here: The Ultimate Traveller’s Guide to the World plays at the Backstage Theatre until March 12.
  • The What It Is Podcast released episode 97: March Madness, where they chat about Hot Mess, This is War, Wish You Were Here: The Ultimate Traveller’s Guide to the World, and The Other. 
  • Kristen is making her way through all of the theatre happening in Edmonton right now.
  • The Edmonton Galleria Project has signed a MOU with the City of Edmonton.
  • Punctuate! Theatre is looking to add another artist to their collective.
  • Curious Arts blog has posted a great guide to headshots.
  • Send in the Girls has released a trailer for their upcoming show: Bust ‘Em Up Burlesque:
