Edmonton downstage | 02.08.2016

I hope you’ve been seeing as much theatre as humanly possible over the last few weeks – there’s certainly enough choices out there! I hope you all have an awesome Family Day this coming weekend. Edmonton downstage will be on hiatus next week, and I’ll be back at it February 22 – see you in a few weeks!

  • Opening over the next couple weeks:
    • The Gay Heritage Project hits the Citadel’s stage February 10 – 27.
    • L’Uni Théâtre‘s production of Francis Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine runs at La Cité Francophone February 11 – 20.
    • Sarah Ruhl’s In the Next Room or the vibrator play, presented by Trunk Theatre, will be at the Backstage Theatre February 18 – 28.
    • Catalyst Theatre is allowing you to relive some of their greatest musical numbers in Songs for Sinners and Saints running February 19 and 20 at the Citadel.
  • Closing over the next couple weeks:
    • Public performances of Jana O’Connor’s The Early Bloomer are February 12 and 13 with Concrete Theatre.
    • You have until February 13 to see the Citadel’s production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
    • Walterdale’s production of Boeing Boeing also closes February 13.
    • The University of Alberta’s production of  A Midsummer Night’s Dream runs until February 13.

    • Guys in Disguise and Theatre Network’s Klondykes runs at The Roxy on Gateway until February 21.
  • Tonight, February 8, is A Celebration of the Life and Work of Michael Green at Metro Cinema. • The Chinook Series may be over, but you can still catch up with the podcasts, recorded by What It Is Podcast, on the Chinook Series website.
  • The Citadel has announced its 2016-2017 season – looks like it’ll be a good one!
  • Kristen blogs about Rapid Fire Theatre’s We’re Not Afraid and Walterdale’s Boeing Boeing – sounds like both were hilarious!
