Edmonton downstage | 16.02.2015

Before this week’s Edmonton downstage, I want to offer my condolences to those who knew Michael Green, Narcisse Blood, Michele Sereda, and Lacy Morin-Desjarlais, who unexpectedly died in a multi-vehicle car crash last week.

  • Opening this week:
    • Drat! The Cat! February 18 – 28 at The Backstage Theatre at the ATB Financial Art Barns.
    • Northern Light Theatre’s The Pink Unicorn February 19 – 28 at the PCL Studio at the ATB Financial Art Barns.
    • Stage Struck! Festival at Walterdale Theatre, February 20 – 21.
  • Closing this week:
    • Theatre Network’s Famous Puppet Death Scenes at Eastglen High School until February 22.
      • It’s now been over a month since the fire at the Roxy, and Theatre Network is saying the best thing we can do to support them right now is to get out and see Famous Puppet Death Scenes. Check out my review, or Liz Nicholls’ review.
      • Also, check out the What It Is Podcast’s episode 64, which features members of The Old Trout Puppet Workshop.
    • Full Frontal Diva at La Cité Francophone until February 22.
  • There’s a ton of jobs available in Edmonton theatre right now – check out Theatre Alberta’s classifieds for the most current listings.
  • The Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program is accepting applications until February 28 at noon.
