  • I Don’t Get It Dance podcast posted episode 2 of their second season, where they talk about two recent shows: Retake and Phases. 
  • The What it is podcast is two years old! Check out their 2 year birthday episode.
  • The Alberta Foundation for the Arts wants to know “What is your art?”. Check out picks and favourites from people like Heather Klimchuk or Don Iveson and create your own top five list.
  • Kim’s Convenience opens at the Citadel Theatre this week. I’m really excited for this play and that the Citadel has chosen it to open their 49th season. I’ll be attending on Tuesday night – look for my review later this week.
  • Vigilante, which goes up at the Citadel in March, just finished a week-long workshop
  • Speaking of openings, Edmonton Actors Theatre opened Fatboy last week. Check out my reviewthe Journal’s, or Kristen’s.
  • I’m sure you’ve heard by now, but Northern Light Theatre’s first Battle for the Limelight fundraiser was a huge success, raising over $13,000 for 12 theatre companies.
  • Punctuate! Theatre announced its largest undertaking to dateThe Suburban Motel Series, which will feature over FORTY artists! The project goes up April 29 – May 11.
  • More announcements! Fringe Theatre Adventures announced their 2014/2015 Arts at the Barns Presentation Series, which features:
    • Rumpelstiltskin
    • The Maggie-Now complete cycle of all three plays, based on the beloved book by Betty Smith
    • The Christmas Carol Project
    • Bears
    • The Expanse Festival
    • Christina/Philippe
    • The Ugly One
    • Sprouts New Play Festival for Kids

  • On a personal note, I’ve been busy helping organize SkirtsAfire’s fall fundraiser (Skirtoberfest), which will feature a wine and chocolate tasting, performances by Nuela Charles and Lindsey Walker and an excerpt from Nicole Moeller’s new play, The Mothers. It’s going to be a great event – look for information on advance tickets ($25) soon!
