There’s something wonderful about going to a show whose description admits that you could love it or hate it. Being a marketer by day, most of what I read and write assumes that you’ll love whatever is being written about.

From the description on NextFest’s website, it appears that this play takes ordinary interactions and gives the audience a bit more insight into them. After seeing this year’s From Cradle to Stage – where one of the themes was the results of everyday interactions with strangers – I’ve been thinking more and more about theatre that portrays and addresses those sometimes mundane aspects of life. The last few years of my life seem to have flown by in such a flash that I’m not even sure I was paying attention. Theatre, for me, has always been a way to slow down and experience life, and I’m becoming increasingly interested in theatre that gives me insight into what may be resulting from the interactions I unknowingly have with others.

Of course, I could be wrong, and Lessons on Humanity could be about something completely different. Come to the show on June 12th with me and we’ll find out together!

This is either the best sketch show you will have ever seen, or the worst scenes you will have ever met. Or both! We aim to teach you life lessons, to take you through the stages of life, to show you people as they truly are. They grow as they learn… or not.
